Story of teh Day 4/ 1/ 2009

My husband had a long day at work.
He also had a bit of a surprise.
This afternoon, a new patient who had driven quite a distance to see him pulls out acopy of his book. Well, his and Campy’s book.

This is what he wrote to Campy:

I was seeing my 1 PM new patient yesterday, and she pulled out a copy of our book. I was so surprised that I blurted out, "where did you get that book?"
"I bought it on Barnes and Noble dot com," she replied.
I thought to myself, wow, someone actually bought one, but I kept that thought to myself. She decided to drive from north of Indy to my office in Greenwood (south of Indy), on the basis of the book. She was a nervous woman, that had already seen two other rheumatologists, but needed to be reassured again that she had osteoarthritis rather than rheumatoid arthritis. She claimed that her last rheumatologist didn't talk very much - not a star communicator I guess.

I asked him if she asked to have it autographed, but she didn’t.

What is this book? My aunt has rheumatoid arthritis... she always calls it 'rheumatory' without any arthritis and I wonder about her physician who allows this but that is beside the point. The book is something she should be reading? I assume she reads. I'm kidding. She reads.

Do you see what's happening here? I've read several stories and suddenly my inner dialogue spills out my fingers as if you wrote it. That is fantastic!

I think teh public library has it.
I have a couple of friends who refers to their rheumatoid arthritis as "Uncle Arty".
Not the sort of relative u want to have.........
Yes, and if ur fingers start doing train of thought...u will start signing all of it , too!!!
Thsi is okay , unless ur inner dialogue is bout bombing a federal building!!!!!!! (I know u to well to think that!)
Now, I grew up thinking that peopel walking down the street talking to themselves were nuts- but bluetooth has put a crimp on that deduction...however, since bluetooth doesn't work with ASL......
Actually, I both talk and sign to myself.....and I dont' have bluetooth ........
